[CH] 4S52 07:51 Crewe Basford Hall – Coatbridge F.L.T.
10th September 2025This is a scenario for the ATS West Coast Mainline – Midlands & Northwest “Missing Link” route.
You’re rostered on an unusual turn today, stepping in over 30 minutes early at Crewe Basford Hall to relieve the depot driver and take charge of a heavily loaded Freightliner intermodal bound for Coatbridge. Your duty is to work the train as far as Preston, and with it being early morning you should enjoy a relatively clear run on the West Coast Main Line, although that can quickly change as you edge closer to the morning rush hour. Normally this working would be entrusted to a pair of Class 86s, but with them unavailable, you’ve been allocated Class 66/5 No. 66540 “Ruby”, so expect a different driving experience with a single loco on the head end. Manage your power carefully, stay alert for pathing checks, and deliver your train smoothly to Preston ready for the onward crew.

Feedback is greatly appreciated – enjoy.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable drive.
A couple of comments, firstly that I see the other commenter experienced changes in weather. I do have the Sky/Weather enhancement pack installed, however appreciate this is likely an issue on my end. Secondly, strange problem regarding Coaches A and F of the 221 not loading in, I changed this myself in RW tools and the rest of the scenario worked beautifully.
Playing this scenario genuinely was some of the most enjoyment I have got out of TS2024 in a long time.
Glad to hear you got it sorted
Really enjoyed the drive with some challenging gradients, mixed weather and a great selection of AI. top drawer stuff!
Glad you enjoyed Darran, I take it you’re referring to the climb to Warrington in torrential rain after the signal check? That was pretty fun in testing, controlling the slippage while maintaing momentum! Really appreciate the feedback mate 🙂
