[CH] 4M25 06:06 Mossend Euroterminal – Daventry Int RFT Reception RfD
12th February 2026 2 By ChuntleyThis is a scenario for the WCML Over Shap route.
Following a points failure at Kingmoor Up Loop, you’ve been held in Carlisle N.Y., instead, until your booked path south. Although you’re running around half an hour early, you must remain where you are and wait for instructions from the Kingmoor shunter before moving.
Once you’re given the road, you’ll take 66037 out of Carlisle N.Y. and head south. On departure, be prepared to negotiate higher-priority traffic at Caldew Junction, and you may be checked or held there for some time depending on traffic levels.
You’ll work the train towards Eden Valley Loop, where you will be held as booked, before continuing south towards Preston where another driver will be waiting to relieve you.
This job is usually booked for a pair of Class 90s, so it’s a bit of a surprise to be handed a Class 66 instead. Keep an eye on the gradients, drive it steadily, and manage the train smoothly.

About the author
All my scenarios follow actual WTTs, these span span the 1980s to modern day – from Class 1 expresses to heavy freights, with plenty of chasing yellows. I play with trains for a living, and when I’m not on the real railway, I’m usually playing with ones that are 76 times smaller and made from plastic. I’m also quite keen on repainting and weathering these. Besides playing trains I also play a certain six stringed instrument.

Very nice run south indeed. I did like the way you set out the departure from Kingmoor Yard to Carlisle. Plenty of variety with the AI.
Thanks, that small stretch of line (Kingmoor – Upperby Bridge) is one of my favourites of the entire network, as well as the surrounding Carlisle network off to the S&C and M&C. Glad to hear you enjoyed as I certainly enjoyed making it
