[CH] 1V54 09:35 Newcastle – Plymouth
7th April 2026 2 By ChuntleyThis is a scenario for the ATS “Leeds Lines” Phase 2.
As of the May 2019 timetable, every Sunday, CrossCountry operated three southbound services from York to Doncaster via Leeds – 1V50, 1V52, and 1V54 – providing a reliable connection across Yorkshire. In this scenario, you take over 1V54 at York on the morning of 21st July 2019, operating a 9-car set of 221122 and 220016.
Although drivers on this service normally head to Sheffield via Moorthorpe, avoiding Doncaster entirely, this working was signed to cover York–Doncaster, via Leeds, for route retention and to maintain competency amongst CrossCountry drivers. You will follow the route through Leeds and Wakefield Westgate, maintaining the timetable and managing a busy but enjoyable run down to Doncaster.

All my scenarios follow actual WTTs, these span span the 1980s to modern day – from Class 1 expresses to heavy freights, with plenty of chasing yellows. I play with trains for a living, and when I’m not on the real railway, I’m usually playing with ones that are 76 times smaller and made from plastic. I’m also quite keen on repainting and weathering these. Besides playing trains I also play a certain six stringed instrument.

Very enjoyable and relaxing scenario, ran flawlessly. Driving from Neville Hill through Leeds really emphasised how much route building has moved on when you compare this route to the Leeds North West one. Thank you for sharing your work.
Glad to hear it was so enjoyable. I too am amazed at how far route building has come, being local to the Aire Valley too, I am forever grateful to MaxTracks for finally getting that route into TS and the level of detail at which has been achieved.
