This download consists of two scenarios for the ATS WCML “Missing Link” route.

One scenario is prefixed with  “LITE” version, playable for most machines, but there is no rolling stock in yards or freight services. The other contains rolling stock in yards and AI Freight services. These are both for the same service (1S39 between Birmingham and Preston).

Drive a pair of Virgin HST power cars, 43067 and 43180, on a northbound service from Birmingham New Street to Preston, part of a longer journey originating in Bournemouth and ultimately bound for Edinburgh. As you take charge of this leg, the landscape of Britain’s railways is beginning to shift – Virgin Trains introduced both the Class 220 Voyager and the Class 390 Pendolino in the summer of 2001, casting uncertainty over the future of the much-loved HSTs under their franchise. With these new trains promising faster acceleration, tilting technology, and modern amenities, the HSTs are starting to feel the pressure, making every run a chance to experience a rapidly fading era of British rail travel. However, after a mishap on the signaller’s part at Stafford, you will be left chasing for time for the rest of your run. Keep time and manage your stops carefully as you head through the West Midlands and into the North West. Set in Autumn 2001.
