[CH] 1S29 13:30 London Kings Cross – Edinburgh

This is a scenario for the ATS London Kings Cross – Leeds & York Merge route.

Back in the early-2000s heyday of GNER, when every HST was still Valenta-powered and the freshly refurbished Class 91/1s were just starting to appear, you take charge of 43114 and 43119 on a northbound Edinburgh service from London King’s Cross. It’s the height of summer and absolutely boiling, and after lunchtime you are booked off the Cross at 13:30, starting the rear power car, changing the ETS over, and preparing the set for a demanding run up the East Coast Main Line.

 

Running to tight IC225 timings with calls at Stevenage, Peterborough, Grantham, Newark North Gate and York, this scenario requires confident use of both throttle and brakes to keep time at speeds of up to 125mph. Traffic is busy leaving the capital but eases further north as the afternoon wears on, allowing the your powercars to stretch their legs on the faster sections.

Your duty ends at York, where you will be relieved by another driver to take the train onward to Scotland. Set on 26th July 2003, this scenario offers a nostalgic, high-speed main line run that captures classic GNER HST operations at their best.

A preload free roam has also been included with this titled “[CH] 1S29 Preload”. Please load this and then fly all the way up to the Bounds Green area ensuring everything loads before quitting and loading the main scenario.
