Today is no exception, with the booked 397 failing at Polmadie thanks to a defective wiper of all things, your Glasgow colleague was hastily taxied through to Edinburgh to prep and work 802215 off shed, departing 20 minutes down.

You join the train at Preston, now running 32 minutes late, where you’ll relieve the incoming driver and take 1M83 forward towards Manchester. To add to the disruption, a late platform alteration at Preston from the booked Platform 4 to Platform 2 has caused further delay and confusion for waiting passengers.
