[CH] 1D26 11:05 St. Pancras International – Nottingham (2021)
18th September 2025 1 By ChuntleyThis is a scenario for AP’s MML Enhancement route.
April 2021, and the days of HST operation on the Midland Main Line are rapidly drawing to a close. Today you’re in charge of 1D26, the 11:05 service from London St Pancras to Nottingham, but with the booked Meridian unavailable, a rare substitution has been made: power cars 43102 and 43274 are on duty. Starting at the blocks in St Pancras aboard 43274, you’ll need to bring the locomotive to life before switching cabs to 43102 to take charge of the run. From there, it’s a straightforward drive up the MML to Bedford, enjoying one of the final few chances to experience HST power on this route.

About the author
All my scenarios follow actual WTTs, these span span the 1980s to modern day – from Class 1 expresses to heavy freights, with plenty of chasing yellows. I play with trains for a living, and when I’m not on the real railway, I’m usually playing with ones that are 76 times smaller and made from plastic. I’m also quite keen on repainting and weathering these. Besides playing trains I also play a certain six stringed instrument.
