[CH] 1D03 17:50 London Kings Cross – Skipton
22nd January 2026 2 By ChuntleyThis is a scenario for the MaxTracks Leeds North West route.
After a track circuit failure around the Doncaster area, you join the evening GNER service to Skipton running around 15 minutes late here at Leeds. Your train is formed of power cars 43008 and 43115, with 43008 having been freshly overhauled recently, and you’re tasked with doing your best down the Aire Valley to try and claw back some of the lost time where possible. To add to the mix, a pair of traction motors had to be isolated on 43115 earlier this afternoon, so performance won’t quite be at full strength, careful handling and good timekeeping will be key as you work the service forward under the circumstances.

About the author
All my scenarios follow actual WTTs, these span span the 1980s to modern day – from Class 1 expresses to heavy freights, with plenty of chasing yellows. I play with trains for a living, and when I’m not on the real railway, I’m usually playing with ones that are 76 times smaller and made from plastic. I’m also quite keen on repainting and weathering these. Besides playing trains I also play a certain six stringed instrument.
