From 1999, Midland Mainline provided a once daily return service from Derby to Barnsley, usually operated by a 4-car Meridian set. On a dreary autumn morning in 2007, take 222016 on the final leg of this journey from Sheffield to Barnsley, calling at Meadowhall along the way.

This is a 25-minute scenario for fearntree’s Penistone Line route, available via the Steam Workshop. The route itself has several limitations, so certain compromises have been made to ensure the scenario runs as intended. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully.

NOTE – Signal BY1029 just outside Barnsley will always display a red aspect. You must pass it to complete the scenario, even if you are denied permission when using Shift-Tab. Passing it will not result in an emergency brake application but will yield a SPAD error in the performance report.
