I don’t know if this bothers anyone else, but one thing that has always annoyed me with the AP Class 321 is the HUD displaying the power and brake controls as percentages rather than the actual notches.

So I decided to change it.

This small LWSim mod changes the HUD readout so the Class 321’s controls are displayed as proper discrete notches:

Power: Notch 1 – Notch 4
Brake: Notch 1 – Notch 4

It’s a very simple change, but I find it makes driving from the HUD much nicer and gives a clearer indication of exactly which notch you’ve selected.

One small limitation: realistically, Brake Notch 4 should display as “Emergency”, matching the labelling on the actual handle. At the moment it displays as Notch 4 instead. I wasn’t able to get the HUD to distinguish this position correctly without affecting the rest of the notched display.

This mod is designed for the Armstrong Powerhouse Class 321 Electric Multiple Unit Pack.

Important

This only changes how the controls are displayed on the HUD. It does not alter the physics, performance or driving characteristics of the Class 321.

As always, I recommend backing up the original files before installing.
