9W09 Bedford – Three Bridges

9W09 Bedford – Three Bridges

8th October 2025 3 By Ryan11223344

It’s Friday night on the Thameslink network! You are charged with taking 9W09 on the 02:15 departure all the way to Three Bridges, a service that used to extend to Brighton pre Covid. Your passengers are an amusing mix of corporatists and holidaymakers angling to get the first flights out of Luton and Gatwick as well as drunken partygoers making their way home after a night out in the city.

You’ll head down to London from Bedford, calling at all stations to St Pancras. The Thameslink core, London’s second busiest cross city arterial rail route, is devoid of the heavy traffic it’s known for. Once out, you’ll weave through Elephant & Castle, Tulse Hill and Streatham Common as you take Thameslink’s nighttime diversionary route through the South London suburbs. The overnight Thameslink trains have unusual and inconsistent calling patterns at this hour with your train making stops in Purley and Horley only between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.
