5P80 – London Crosslink
27th May 2025THIS ONE IS A BIG ONE! – A 3 PART SCENERIO
You are booked onto Train: 5P80, driving from Norwich to Basingstoke, travelling through the Counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Greater London, Surrey and Hampshire .
This 3 part scenerio, uses mutiple routes and you will see AI Traffic from TFL, Greater Anglia, London Overground, Southern and South Western Railway. There is also a odd freight service, thrown in for good mesure.
Part 1: Norwich to Stratford (London)
You will be travveling down the Great Eastern Mainline, as far as Stratford (London), calling at Principle Stations.
Part 1 Requirments:

Part 2: Stratford (London) to Clapham Junction
D:Ream say in their song, things can only get better, but not in your case! Engineering Works at Richmond, mean you cannot follow your usual route. Instead, your service will be diverted via Kensington Olympia. Your service will still call at Willesden Junction and then make an additional stop at Clapham Junction. Storms are heading north across London this evening and are hampering rail services, due to poor rail adheasion. So watch our for heavy thundery downpours and use the Sander if you need it!
Services towards Richmond, will be replaced by Rail Replacement Busses.

Part 3: Clapham Junction to Basingstoke
You have battled hell and high water and made it this far, well done! However, your problems are far from over. South Western Railway have reported that the Emergency Services are currently attending an incident at Mortlake and all lines between Mortlake and Barnes are currently blocked. Because of this, your service is being diverted via the Hounslow Loop. You will be calling at Staines, Woking Farnborough Main and Basinstoke.
Once you arrive at Basingstoke, you will need to switch to ECS Mode and then stable your train in the sidings.
Thankfully the thundery downpours have subsided, but the weather is still wet, with heavy rain forcast for the rest of the night. Watch out for poor rail adhesion!

To install
- Extract the zip to a tempoary location. (IE: C:\Temp)
- Go to your tempoary location and highlight the folder Railworks.
- Go to your Steam\Steamapps\Common Folder
- Drag the Railworks Folder in your Tempoary location into your Steam\Steamapps Folder, clicking yes, when asked to overwrite.
- Locate the scenario in the relivant Standard Scenarios section on the routes used in this scenerio.
Please note:
- Sometimes when you load the scenerio in the 2nd and 3rd part, the alarm may sound in the cab. Follow normal startup procedure and then hit the ! button on the TMS Sceen, to cancel the alarm
- At Willesden Junction, you will be prompted to swap from Overhead to Diesel Mode, as the line is only electrified as far as far as Shepards Bush
- At Clapham Junction, the starting signal is at danger, press Tab and you will be able to pass the signal at danger
- Part 3 will keep you on your toes, due to varying speed limits, especially around the Hounslow Loop and at Vaginia Water.
- Storms are heading north across London, so be prepared for very bad driving conditions in parts 2 and 3.
- Traffic in parts 1 and 3 are modorate with Part 2 having lighter traffic, along the North London Line and Goblin Lines
- I am sorry some of the FLIRTS say not in service, I have had real difficaulty getting the destination blinds to work. Additionally, I am sorry there is no destination for the player service. Basingstoke doesn’t exist. – Alan, maybe in the next fix for this it could be added?
- It is up to you if you want to use the engines or overhead for part 1 and as far as Willdesden Juntion in part 2. However, for a more authentic experience, I suggest using overhead as far as Willesden Junction.
