Hi, and thank you for downloading this 50 minute scenario for the Portsmouth Direct route from DTG. This is an update of a scenario originally released in 2019.

To install, simply copy the enclosed ‘Content’ folder to your Railworks folder. This is a ‘Standard’ scenario and is named “[MJC] 5O40 19+13 Guildford – Eastleigh TRSMD (Updated)”

Summary

Whereas under Virgin Cross Country there were services to and from Portsmouth Harbour, today Cross Country (by Arriva) have only one token service in each direction serving Guildford. To operate these, the unit runs empty stock from or to Eastleigh depot via Havant. This allows drivers to maintain route knowledge over the ‘Pompey Direct’ route, so that in the event of engineering works or disruption on the main route via Winchester, Bournemouth services can be diverted if necessary.

Having arrived on time from Newcastle, the train has been emptied and the doors closed. When you get the signal, you will head south following the 18.30 London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour service. You will be running on Yellows most of the way as that service calls at Godalming, Haslemere, Petersfield, and Havant. The scenario will end at Cosham Junction where you will be stopped awaiting a path. Your class 220 unit has one engine isolated.
