5A87 17+00 Bedford Cauldwell Depot to Kings Cross Thameslink (2005)
23rd October 2024Hello! This is one scenario for AP’s wonderful ‘MML London to Bedford (Enhanced)’ route…
DESCRIPTION: For many weeks during 2005, amended timetables were in place for trains running between Bedford/Luton/St. Albans to either St. Pancras or Kings Cross Thameslink stations because of the £6 billion project to upgrade and expand the Thameslink network. The development facilitated new cross-London journeys, which meant that passengers no longer had to change trains in London. These engineering works were often combined with blockades of the ECML, allowing surplus Class 317 units to be hired to Thameslink from WAGN to cover in shortfalls of their own stock whilst they went through refurbishment. This afternoon, you oversee an ECS move from Bedford’s Cauldwell depot to Kings Cross Thameslink ahead of the evening peak with a pair of these 317s, starting up from cold. Year: 2005
