A shortfall in the availability of Sprinter units means that today’s stroll through the East Midlands is handed to the more flagship Meridian set, usually reserved for mainline work. One of the four Leicester – Lincoln diagrams has received such upgrade and despite it being vastly overpowered and critical to stop in the right place, it does add both comfort and capacity.
