Organised by UK Railtours during the summer of 2012 it’s a return day trip from Hampshire to the High Peak. Top and tailed by EWS Class 66s, with a collection of blood and custard Mk1 & Mk2 coaching stock. The routing is fairly straight forward leaving Buxton via Peak Forest, right turn through the valley, Dore curve and Erewash valley to rejoin the MML at Trent.

 

Traction: 66155 + 12x Mk1/2 + 66213 (Max 75 mph)

Route: Buxton – Hope Valley – Chesterfield – Leicester  (140 mins)

Notes: Static AI had to be stripped back due to OOM errors. Please feel free to imagine the likes of Tunstead, Peak Forest and Toton awash with Class 60/66s.
