1U73 1647 Dover Priory to London Victoria
23rd September 2025Traffic is fairly light at the country end but with the closure of Cannon Street and the Sole Street line, winding your way into Victoria might prove a challenge. You’ll be heavily regulated as you approach via Dartford, taking the Bexleyheath line to rejoin familiar territory at Nunhead. It’s certainly not screenshot weather but it does make for some immersive driving.

After coupling 1U73 to 1U72 and leaving from Faversham, the train barely accelerates (compared to normal), barely reaching 30 mph. In Notch 1 the train brakes, rather than accelerating with less power. 1U73 is fine before coupling to 1U72 as I accelerated normally. I also tested the stock in QD (AP Class 375/6 SE Blue) and it also works fine. I think something might be off with 1U72’s stock. This sadly makes the scenario unplayable.
I have done an additional test, after having left Faversham I uncoupled 375617 while accelerating and normally this should have resulted in 375619 (the leading unit) pulling away. However, it was providing no power, confirming the issues does seem to originate from 375619.
Are you following the ‘Coupling Procedure’ as per the EP’s manual? The Couple button needs to be held down to allow both units to be electrically coupled.
It’s not something I’m aware of nor others have reported to me.
An excellent drive indeed. Had to tab the signal giving the direction to Barnehurst.
Thanks for letting me know about this!
For whatever reason the Approach Control marker at the junction you refer to seems to cause that issue so this has been removed and the signal now displays the correct aspect.
A really excellent drive, Thank you.
