DESCRIPTION: On a busy August Saturday, CrossCountry has drafted in a pair of hired LNER HST sets to provide some much-needed extra capacity on the South West–North East axis. You’ll be taking charge of 1S53, the 13:26 Plymouth to Edinburgh, for the opening leg as far as Bristol Temple Meads. Expect a lively summer run through Devon and Somerset, with holiday traffic, full platforms, and plenty of passengers very grateful this one isn’t a 4-car Voyager! Year: 2019
