Briefing: Good afternoon driver. Today you are tasked with taking this ScotRail 170 to Glasgow Queen Street calling at Haymarket, Falkirk High, Croy and Glasgow Queen Street. Pick up passengers and await your 11:30 departure.

Description: This scenario is based on the many issues faced on the Edinburgh to Glasgow line over the last few months. The 385s are not running due to ongoing problems, 365s and 380s are being brought in to cover as a stopgap. If this isn’t bad enough, there are problems at Cowlairs Junction due to overhead wire problems which have been fixed on a temporary basis to allow services to run at a reduced speed. Emergency speed restrictions are in force. On a plus side the ScotRail ‘Seven Cities’ HST services are now running and VTEC still rule the roost on the ECML but not for long! Although fictitious, this scenario is based on RTT during summer 2018.
