Background:
With the introduction of LNER’s brand new Class 800 ‘Azuma’ trains it lead to a rare opportunity back in the summer of 2019 where 3 types of traction were operating on the East Coast Mainline for LNER. You had the brand new IETs, the classic HSTs and what you will be driving today, the Class 91, 225 sets. With the HSTs being the first to be withdrawn in December of 2019, it was the changing of the baton for the East Coast, as the Azumas began their first few months of service the HSTs, loved by so many, were in their last months of
service (for LNER at least).

In today’s scenario you have taken over the 1106 service from London Kings Cross to York at Peterborough, upon departure at Peterborough at 11:59 you will call at Grantham for 1219, Newark North Gate at 1232, Retford at 1247, Doncaster for 1305 and finally due to arrive into York at 1329.
