DESCRIPTION: By late morning, Paignton is doing what it does best on a summer Saturday: crowds, luggage, and the unmistakable hum of an HST ready to head east. You’re taking charge of 1A50, the 11:42 departure to London Paddington, as far as Taunton, which is a Saturday-only diagram that exists solely for the holiday exodus. It’s already 28 degrees, and the power cars fans are howling away. Year: 2003
