This is a reskin/.bin file change of 43044 as preserved by the 125 Group, accurately depicted in its current preserved form wearing the BR InterCity Executive livery.

The pack includes two versions of the power car:

• VP185 Variant – representing 43044 in its earlier preserved life following re-engining, complete with the correct soundset from APs HST VP185 Pack.
• Valenta Variant – depicting the locomotive as intended by the 125 Group’s ongoing restoration, featuring the Valenta engine and Marston Cooler Group.
• A “Dead” Variant – no sound emitted and purposefully for drags.

In game these will show up as:

• AP 43 IC Exec (2026+) (43044)
• AP 43 IC Exec (VP) (2026+) (43044)
• AP 43 IC Exec (2026+) (43044) (Dead)

The 125 Group acquired 43044 in 2021 as part of their long-term aim to preserve the full story of the InterCity 125. Unlike their other power cars, 43044 was specifically chosen to become the group’s Valenta restoration project, taking advantage of its withdrawn condition and previous VP185 conversion.

Since acquisition, work has focused on removing the later VP185 engine and associated equipment, with the intention of returning the power car to its original configuration using a Paxman Valenta engine and Marston cooler group.

The ultimate goal is to create a fully operational, authentic Valenta-powered HST power car—something no longer present on the mainline—allowing future generations to experience the iconic sound and performance of the original InterCity 125.

43044 will form a key part of the 125 Group’s fleet, representing the earliest era of HST operation alongside later VP185 and MTU-powered examples, effectively showcasing the evolution of the Class 43.

Known Limitations:

• The cab is that of an MTU cab, not actually a VP185 meaning there are a few slight differences, however this is miles better than the original cab and gives proper GSM-R functionality and a better feel to it.
• No nameplate. In reality 43044 is named “Edward Paxman”, I do not have the skillset to create a nameplate, therefore this is not included.
