It’s once again time for the great 12 Days of Scenarios series from Jake Robertson (Robbo13). For this fifth anniversary, 12 different scenario creators will bring one scenario a day until Christmas. I hope you enjoy my contribution to start off the series. Many thanks to Jake for inviting me in to this lovely Christmas tradition!
From 1986, when Broad Street closed, BR started a few peak services between Watford, Willesden and Liverpool Street via the WCML, NLL and WAML. This service only lasted until 1992 due to low patronage, but served as a short continuation of the last Broad Street services of the 80s. You oversee the morning rush stopping service from Watford Junction to Liverpool Street as far as Dalston Kingsland. Try to keep time to enjoy the AI. Traction: 313013
One 70-minute scenario for the Backdated Trainsim NLL BR/NSE v5 route. Weather: Mist. Feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy! 😊

Being a WCML person of this era, I really quite liked this… Folk often forget about the DC Lines and the various oddities such as the services that used to operate via Primrose Hill.
One challenge is keeping time to the actual published WTT times of the era. This is largely because the default station stop on TS Classic seems to be 35 seconds and no less – and in the case of the 313 as modelled, this is doors released to start of hustle alarm. Meanwhile the standard station dwell for powered-door stock such as the 313 in this era was *20 seconds*. So this means that every call gets a 15-20 second penalty. If there was a way to keep the station dwells down to the planned 20 sections, then I think it would be possible to keep time more closely. As it was, 2 minutes late by Willesden Jn therefore didn’t seem too bad!
Other thing is to put a stopping point in the Kilburn Up & Down Loop if you’re stopping a train in the loop and need other things to pass whatever’s looped – this is because the destination marker causes the train to stop “standing ahead” of the GPL signal to exit the loop. This then stitches up the Up Slow. I’m not entirely sure if you were intending to pass the Freightliner looped there in this scenario, but I know it’s caught me out before.
Hi, glad you liked it!
About the timetable, I really searched for a way to have shorter stops at each station but didn’t find any. I know the timetable as I made it is very tight, but still I added in total 10 minutes from Watford to Dalston.
About the looped freight liner, I see what you mean about stopping the up slow. I don’t think anything’s supposed to come after it though.
Thanks for playing!
Loved this! Atmospheric, great to have the AI traffic on the WCML. Thanks for creating it.
Thanks for playing
A very nice misty morning atmosphere on an underused line! Thank you very much for this serie 🙂
Thanks!
I tried downloading but it only gives me a JPG picture of the thumbnail
Hope you saw that I updated it with the actual file now!
