I am currently working on a scenario for the ECML merge. The scenario covers the whole route so is 4 hrs 9 mintues long. The Train and AI’s are all in place and there are no conflicts with testing, so all I need to do now is addd a bit of clutter tomak it interesting.I was my intention to make this scanario as realistic and accurate as possible. That proved to be a bit much because of the timetable rerstirctions imposed by the route upgrade work and covid. It has been a while since I worked on scenarios and stuff for TS, so I might need some advice once the scenario is complete. So the advice would be on packaging and uploading to this webpage.9th June 2021 at 10:56 #2243700frankjParticipant
Great I shall keep an eye out for it having enjoyed the built in scenarios

It has turned out to be a pretty dauning task, especially when you want the scenario to be as accurate as possible. Reality, throws a psanner in the works. The ECML route is undergoing major upgrades so accuracy with timetables is specualtive that all should return to nromallity by September 2021.I came across an anomaly with TS 2021 and the time it takes from Newark to Peterborough…….when you test the scenario using the fast play in scenario builder….the driven train arrives late by some 6 minutes. At over 4 hrs , I have not yet got to the stage of driving the full lenght , I have one or two tweaks to perform. I also made a terrible mistake of ed8ting the scenario during a fast play and saving it ……of course what that does is save the scenario from the point at which you paused it rathewr than revert to the original staring point , old age cathes up with you. Good job I had the good sense to Clone the scenario.Personal qustion for you Alan……Has anyone created engineering rolling stock? Doncaster has this large engineering depot, it would be nice to see realistic consists, I have included some of your reskins and those of DP simulations, but sadly I could not find any actual machinery.10th June 2021 at 16:49 #2246306
As you can imagine creating a scenario of this length does take time.I am at the stage now of drive testing the entire scenario which as you can imagine is a lengthy process because with the best will in the world, the proof in the pudding is always in the eating.Using fast play in editor does not always pick up flaws or AI crashes. I have done as far as Doncaster and it all seems to work well, sadly I made a fau par by directing the train to pick up passengers from platform 4 at Doncaster, if you do this in TS 2021 you are then directed on an indirect path. So Platform 1 is the best option. If all goes well I should be ready to package the scenario ready for publishing in a couple of days.I would like some advice on how to make a good presentaion for publication, things like requirements etc and everything needed in a readme text.Thnaking you in advance.15th June 2021 at 19:54 #2259894
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to stop work on the the scanario that I was creating. I was wearing my rose tinted glasses whn I saw the merge for the East Coast Mainline and thought great, I wouldlove to drive the whole lengthin a realistic simulation. Its a pity I did not read the whole reqirements properly, I had most of them and bought the York To Peterborough route not realising the the DPS extemsion is an integral part of the route. That add on also requires other routes that I do not have and cannot afford to buy at this present time. The main issue is at Docaster for this particular scenario, there is a signalling issue. There wwre significant changes made in the merge that are different from the DTG route. My scenario will play from start to finish with a hiccup because of SPAD in this area, so maybe it will run perfectly for those who have all the requirements. If anyone is interested in playing or modifying this scenario contact me and I will send you the package. In the meantime, I might think about working on the merge route and putting in the missing OHLE and rectifyingg the speed errors on the Edinburgh to Newcastle section, as well as tin kering with the signalling issues at Doncater.
