Its lease having ended with the NRM, 238 was stripped of its commemorative and special livery, and sees itself now in an all over plain red, earning the nickname ‘High Speed Tomato’. 299 on the other hand must have had some sort of
front end change, being red below the join line, and now having the ‘dimples’ seen
on EMT & GWR (now ScotRail) Power Cars, but less common on the EC examples (272 and 290 have them).
